“Ugat” means “Roots” in Tagalog. This year, Stanford Kayumanggi of the Pilipinx-American Student Union is throwing their 9th annual Pilipinx Cultural Night, or PCN. “Ugat” will explore several aspects of the Filipino and Filipino-American experience, including family, tradition, and knowing one’s “roots.” The show will include traditional dances from five Filipino dance suites, a drama storyline depicting an intergenerational narrative, and live traditional Filipino music from LIKHA.
