Baybayin Practice Sheet
Discover and Write the Ancient Script of the Philippines
Baybayin (ᜊᜌ᜔ᜊᜌᜒᜈ᜔) is a pre-colonial writing system used by the indigenous peoples of the Philippine archipelago before the Spanish colonization in the 16th century. Written from left to right, it consists of 17 characters — 3 vowels and 14 consonants — each representing an open syllable. Once inscribed on perishable materials like bamboo and leaves, Baybayin is today experiencing a proud cultural revival across art, fashion, and education.
This interactive practice sheet lets you trace and write each Baybayin character using your mouse or touchscreen. Select any character from the grid, study its form with the ghost guide, then practice drawing it freehand. Track your progress as you work through all 17 characters and reconnect with one of the Philippines' most beautiful cultural treasures.
