UC Davis - September 29 - Filipino Community Policy Symposium

Please join the Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies for our first annual Filipino Community Policy Symposium! Grassroots organizations, non-profits, former elected officials, and students from across the Sacramento/Yolo County area (as well as the Bay!) will be joining together to discuss issues directly affecting our community such as human rights issues in the Philippines, gender-based violence, immigration, and housing.

Our goals for the Symposium are to build coalitions with Filipino orgs across the region, advance and develop a "2019 Policy Agenda" pushing for progressive policies that will better our community's wellbeing, and organize the first-ever Filipino Legislative Advocacy Day in Sacramento in 2019.

This is an opportunity for us to use policy as a strategy to support our movement on the ground!

The Symposium will be on September 29th, from 11:30 am - 5:30 pm, at UC Davis Wellman Hall. Register at this link, and tickets are $20 for community members and $5 for students. See the attached flyer below and see you there!
