Forgotten Island, DreamWorks Animation's film rooted in Filipino folklore, is coming home.

When and where to watch

  • Digital: Tuesday, October 27 — buy or rent on Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home.

  • 4K, Blu-ray and DVD: December 1.

"Going digital" means buying or renting it at home — it isn't on a streaming subscription yet, and no streaming date has been announced.

Our folklore on the big screen

The film brings creatures from Philippine folklore to a global audience, including the manananggal, tiyanak, kapre and kataw.

The Filipino talent behind it

The film was co-directed by Filipino animator Januel P. Mercado, with voices including Liza Soberano, Dolly de Leon and Lea Salonga, and 2D animation from Manila-based Snipple Animation.

How it did

Critics loved it — it holds a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes — and audiences gave it an "A" CinemaScore. As of mid-October, it had earned about $61 million worldwide, including nearly $4 million in the Philippines.
