Barong Style Mesh Tee: Lapu Lapu
In 1521, Lapu-Lapu, datu of Mactan, led his warriors against Ferdinand Magellan's forces and won. It was the first recorded resistance against Spanish colonization in the Philippines. This tee honors the first Filipino hero, titled in Baybayin, the pre-colonial script of the Philippines.
It takes the look of the barong Tagalog, the Philippines' national dress, and remakes it as a lightweight, breathable mesh tee with a relaxed boxy fit, made for warm days, festivals and everyday wear.
