Bakunawa Crewneck

Long before eclipses had a scientific name, our ancestors in the Visayas had a story for them: the Bakunawa, a giant sea serpent that rose from the ocean to swallow the moon. When the sky went dark, whole villages would bang pots, drums and gongs to make the Bakunawa spit the moon back out.

This design honors one of the oldest and most powerful creatures in Philippine mythology, titled in Baybayin, the pre-colonial script of the Philippines.
